The music of rain
Some listen to the music of rain to help them fall asleep, some make their own rain music using instruments, and others perform rain dances to help bring much needed rain to their lands
Work with your learners to create A rainstorm using just their bodies!
This is a fun musical activity to bring learners back together as a group or transition to a new task. It’s also a fun way to think about how rainstorms can vary and have learners share about their own experiences and interests in rain!
Use the video to teach you how to make it rain indoors, outdoors, and anytime of day!
Make a quality Rain Stick!
Rain sticks were originally made from dead cactus tubes filled with pebbles, and with cactus spines hammered into the sides.
To recreate the authentic sound of the original rain sticks, we suggest hammering small nails into a cardboard tube to replicate the cactus spines, and WOW-it will sound amazing!
Materials needed:
Cardboard tube [thick cardboard tube needed if using nails ex. aluminum foil tube]
Hammer and small thin nails
Noise making fillers- dry beans, dry rice, sprinkles, etc.
Paper cut into 2 circles to cover the ends of the tubes
Tape or rubber bands to secure the circular paper to the tube’s opening
Ways to decorate the rain stick- paint, stickers, markers, tape, strings, etc.
