Groundhog day Hunt!
Use scientific evidence to help you hunt for a groundhog and find its shadow!
Groundhog day is February 2nd, but who says you can’t search for groundhogs other days of the year too?
Have children help you look for a groundhog in your local outdoor spaces. Maybe you’ll get lucky and find a groundhog coming out of hibernation to celebrate with!
Be sure to look for the groundhog’s shadow and report back whether we’re in for a long winter or not!
According to folklore- if the groundhog sees its shadow then we are in for six more weeks of winter!
